Prior to joining DM Development as CFO, Mr. Beck’s experience included several years as CFO with the Santa Lucia Preserve, a 20 thousand acre residential development and land conservancy with 300 home sites, a golf course, equestrian center and small hotel. He was also co-managing partner of a firm that developed second home resort communities, it’s foremost project, a $100M plus residential resort located on the northern part of the Sea of Cortez, Mexico. Mr. Beck also served as the CFO and was on the initial development team for El Dorado, a prominent private golf and residential development in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Mr. Beck’s background includes “Big Four” accounting and M&A transactional due diligence as a senior manager for PwC. He is a CPA and a CFA charterholder.
Mr. Beck received a BSBA from Boston University and earned his Master’s in Real Estate Development at the University of Southern California, Price School of Public Policy. Mr. Beck is an active member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) and serves on the Board of Chartwell School in Monterey, CA, the first LEED Certified Platinum School and campus in the country.

Mr. Sterlace is involved in all aspects of DM’s development projects and is responsible for the execution and management of all design, permitting, and construction activities at DM.
Prior to working with DM, Mr. Sterlace’s 18 years in Real Estate included managing the development of complex projects, from acquisition through disposition and across multiple product types. As Executive Vice President of Brian Spiers Development, Mr. Sterlace was responsible for all phases of mixed-use developments including due diligence and financial feasibility, debt and equity investor relations and reporting, entitlements, community relations, as well as managing the design, permitting, construction, marketing, leasing and sales.
He has directly managed over $1 Billion in ground up projects, including recently four high-density residential condominium and apartment developments in San Francisco totaling 250 units and approximately $300M in value: Linea, 1600 Market, 2100 Market and 235 Valencia Street.
Prior to joining Brian Spiers Development Mr. Sterlace served as a consultant with Exponent, and as a Senior Project Manager with Roebbelen Contracting. His industry experience spans multiple sectors including Mixed-Use Multi Family Residential, Office, Commercial, Low-Income Housing, Healthcare, Higher Education, Public Works, K-12 and Heavy Civil. He is actively involved in trade organizations including the American Society of Civil Engineers, the Urban Land Institute, and the San Francisco Housing Action Coalition.
Mr. Sterlace holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of California Berkeley, a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Southern California, a Master’s of Business Administration from the University of California Berkeley’s Haas School of Business and is a licensed Professional Civil Engineer in the state of California since 2008.
